FIFTEEN LOVE

Hold only one ball at a time. It is inadvisable to hold two on a first serve for two reasons. First, if the serve goes in, either you have to play the point carrying a ball in your hand or else you have to remember to throw it aside. Why do that? Second, with another ball in your hand if you miss the first serve, you’re inclined to rush the second serve instead of taking your time as you should.

So put the second ball in your pocket. If your tennis dress doesn’t have a pocket, LADIES, sew one on.

Halte immer nur einen Ball auf einmal. Es ist nicht ratsam, beim ersten Aufschlag zwei Bälle zu halten, und zwar aus zwei Gründen. Erstens: Wenn der Aufschlag ins Feld geht, musst Du entweder den Punkt mit einem Ball in der Hand spielen oder daran denken, ihn zur Seite zu werfen. Warum sollte man das tun? Zweitens neigst du mit einem weiteren Ball in der Hand dazu, wenn du den ersten Aufschlag verfehlst, dich beim zweiten Aufschlag zu sehr zu beeilen, anstatt dir die nötige Zeit zu lassen.

Stecke also den zweiten Ball in deine Tasche. Wenn Euer Tenniskleid keine Tasche hat, LADIES, nähe eine dran.
